Kimberly Rogers is a Freshman at
the University of
Maryland (UMD), College Park, where she's
pursuing a pre-med degree in Physiology
and Neurobiology. In
her first semester she received academic honours
from the university and is now a member of the prestigious
Primannum
Honor Society. She is also a
member of the National
Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), a
society dedicated to "honoring and
inspiring academic excellence and engaged
citizenship for a lifetime". Kimberly is
also currently a member of the Caribbean
Student Association and hopes to become more
involved in a children's mentorship program in
coming semesters. In
2003 she successfully completed her studies from the Albena
Lake Hodge Comprehensive School (ALHCS), 6th
form, with a
memorable reputation as an intelligent, motivated
and talented young lady. At graduation she
received an Award for Literatures in English
(CAPE level).
Lead Debator & Winner
In 2002 at age 18, Kimberly was the
lead debator on the ALHCS team representing Anguilla at the
Leeward Islands Annual Debating Competition
being held on that occasion in Antigua. One year
earlier she had won best speaker at the same event
being held then in Anguilla.
She was the valedictorian of the graduating class of
2001 and as a student in Anguilla also worked part-time as a personal
assistant to the manager, at American Eagle.
In
2001 she represented Anguilla at a tourism
conference held in the Bahamas. In addition
Kimberly was a co-host on the television
talk show X-Pressions, which discusses various
issues (some controversial) pertaining to
the youth in Anguilla.
She is an outstanding student with
tremendous potential and we are proud to feature
