Introduction & AMBITIONS
The first cries of
Kerith Tristan Kentish were heard seeping through the doors of
the maternity ward of the then Cottage Hospital in The Valley,
Anguilla on 1st April 1986. Born to George and Civilla Kentish,
this enthusiastically-energetic young man considers himself a
true Caribbean National; Anguillian by birth, Nevisian and
Antiguan by descent but one hundred percent Caribbean by heart.
Kerith is currently reading for a Bachelors of Law at the
University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. After
graduation in 2009 he hopes to attend the Norman Manley Law
School in Jamaica to read for his Legal Education Certificate.
Recently, it has become a burning desire of his to one day
extend his qualifications to provide comfortable and
professional legal services to Anguilla’s Spanish-Speaking
populace in their native language. Being the recipient of the
Best Spanish-Speaking Student Award in the Class of 2003 he has
already begun to work towards fulfillment of this dream.
Mr. Kentish intends to return home and join his team at Joyce
Kentish & Associates where he will be able to help the
oppressed, the depressed, the dejected, the rejected and the
castigated of his society and to further develop Caribbean
jurisprudence.
IN HIS OWN WORDS
I credit
my success not only to something I call “positive vybes” but I
am heavily indebted to my teachers, guidance counselors, peers,
role models (Mr. Colin Johnson and Mrs. Sarah Francis) and God
Almighty.
It would be remiss of me had I not mentioned the strong
influence my family’s support has had on me. With their love and
well wishes nothing ever seemed unattainable. If there is ever
one thing that I have taken greedily from them it would have to
be their strength of character.
RECREATIONAL
I
enjoy opening my mind to new ideas, different cultures and
especially the world of travel. I am known to be a passionate
proponent of issues affecting Youth and an Ambassador for young
persons in my community, the region and the world when the need
arises. Naturally, therefore I find much pleasure in debating
and public speaking.
I also take much joy in fundraising for charitable causes and
participating in Carnival festivities.
